The Observatory further enhances the Hong Kong Heat Index Information Service
10 April 2026
The Hong Kong Observatory further enhances its Hong Kong Heat Index Information Services today (10 April) and releases “Hong Kong Heat Index” (HKHI) data of more districts. Apart from King’s Park and Beas River, data at eight more stations, including Chek Lap Kok, Happy Valley, Hong Kong Observatory, Kau Sai Chau, Kowloon Bay, Sha Tin, Wetland Park and Wong Chuk Hang, is also provided for reference by the public.
Hong Kong’s summer is generally hot and humid. The HKHI reflects the combined effect of temperature, humidity, wind speed and solar radiation. The release of HKHI data of more districts helps the public to appreciate the heat condition in different areas and take appropriate precautions against the heat.
The real time HKHI information can be accessed through the “Regional Weather in Hong Kong” webpage. The information will also be available in the future update version of mobile application “MyObservatory”.
