Medium Level Significant Weather Forecasts in New Format

Digital data for preparation of the medium level significant weather charts have become available from World Area Forecast Centre (WAFC) London since April 2005. New medium level significant weather forecasts prepared using these digital data are now available on the AMIDS on a trial basis. The forecasts cover ICAO specified areas in Europe, Middle East, and Asia. According to the ICAO transition plan, significant weather forecasts in digital data format will replace the present fax chart format later next year.
