Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong
Observatory.

An anticyclone aloft is bringing mainly fine and very hot
weather to Guangdong. Showers triggered by high temperatures
are affecting the region.

At 4 p.m., Super Typhoon Mekkhala was centred about 820
kilometres south-southwest of Okinawa. It is forecast to
move north at about 10 kilometres per hour in the general
direction of the vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Cloudy periods tonight. Mainly fine apart from isolated
showers tomorrow. The minimum temperature will be about 29
degrees in the morning. Very hot during the day. The maximum
temperature will be around 33 degrees in the urban areas,
and a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories.
Moderate southwesterly winds.

Outlook : Still very hot on Thursday, with isolated showers.
The weather will become unsettled on Friday and over the
weekend.
