South China Coastal Waters

Warnings:
Gale force winds in Nan'ao and Shanwei. Strong winds in Hong
Kong adjacent waters, south of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao.

Weather Situation:
The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal
waters.

At 10 p.m., Typhoon Yinxing with maximum sustained winds of
about 140 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at
17.6 degrees north, 125.7 degrees east. It is forecast to
move west-northwest at about 12 kilometres per hour towards
the vicinity of Luzon Strait and intensify gradually.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
East to northeast force 5 to 6.
A few light rain patches.
Moderate to rough seas.

Nan'ao:
Northeast force 7 to 8.
Rough to very rough seas.

Shanwei:
Northeast force 6 to 7, occasionally force 8.
Rough to very rough seas.

South of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao:
East to northeast force 6 to 7.
Rough seas.

Outlook for the following 48 hours 
East to northeasterly winds of force 6 to 7, force 8 in
east.
