South China Coastal Waters

Weather Situation:
An easterly airstream is affecting the coastal waters of
Guangdong.

At 8 p.m., the tropical depression over the seas east of the
Philippines with maximum sustained winds of about 45
kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 14.5
degrees north, 129.6 degrees east. It is forecast to move
west-northwest at about 18 kilometres per hour towards the
vicinity of Luzon and intensify gradually.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
East to southeast force 4.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

Nan'ao, Shanwei and South of Hong Kong:
East force 4, occasionally force 5.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

Shangchuan Dao:
East force 4, occasionally force 5.
Isolated showers and squally thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

Outlook for the following 48 hours 
Easterly winds of force 4, occasionally force 5, becoming
northeasterly winds up to force 8 later. Occasional heavy
squally showers and thunderstorms.
