Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong
Observatory.

A broad trough of low pressure over the South China Sea
brought showers and thunderstorms to the coast of Guangdong
yesterday. Locally, it was mainly cloudy with occasional
showers and squally thunderstorms. Showers were heavy at
times in the morning. Around 30 millimetres of rainfall were
recorded over many places, and rainfall even exceeded 50
millimetres over the Southern District of Hong Kong Island.
Besides, the area of low pressure over the seas east of the
Philippines brought unsettled weather to the region
yesterday. Under the influence of a broad trough of low
pressure over the South China Sea, there will be showers and
thunderstorms over the coast of Guangdong today and
tomorrow.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Wednesday, 17 Jul 2024)

Mainly cloudy with occasional showers and squally
thunderstorms. Showers will be heavier at times at first.
Temperatures will range between 27 and 31 degrees. Moderate
to fresh east to southeasterly winds, occasionally strong
offshore and on high ground.

Outlook : Sunny intervals and a few showers in the following
couple of days. Very hot on Friday. The weather will become
unsettled with squally thunderstorms during the weekend to
early next week.
