South China Coastal Waters

Weather Situation:
The area of low pressure near Hainan Island is bringing
unsettled weather to the south China coastal waters.

At 8 p.m., Tropical Storm Kujira with maximum sustained
winds of about 75 kilometres per hour near its centre was
located at 17.5 degrees north, 119.4 degrees east. It is
forecast to move east slowly towards Luzon.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
East to southeast force 3 to 4.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Slight to moderate seas.

Nan'ao and Shanwei:
East to northeast force 4.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

South of Hong Kong:
East to southeast force 4.
Scattered showers and squally thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

Shangchuan Dao:
South to southeast force 4 to 5.
Occasional heavy showers and squally thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

Outlook for the following 48 hours 
Westerly winds of force 4 to 5, up to force 6 in west.
Occasional heavy showers and squally thunderstorms.
