The Observatory Among Winners of Hong Kong ICT Awards 2022

The Observatory won the Smart Living (Smart Lifestyle) Silver Award of the Hong Kong Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Awards 2022 for its “MyObservatory” mobile app.

Among recent developments, “MyObservatory” now includes a “Location-based Rain and Lightning Forecast” service, which employs state-of-the-art weather nowcasting and data compression technologies with personalised push notifications. In addition, the “My Weather Observation” function offered in “MyObservatory” enables sharing of crowdsourced reports with reasonable quality, while respecting users’ privacy by adopting a zero-knowledge approach. The close integration of the app and the Observatory’s “Dr. Tin” Chatbot has also elevated user experiences.
