The Hong Kong Observatory participated in the “Hong Kong Island Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Day 2025” organised by the Fire Services Department to promote knowledge of radiation and nuclear emergency response. Hong Kong Observatory Strengthens Exchanges with National Time Service Centre
Colleagues from the Hong Kong Observatory visited the National Time Service Centre (NTSC) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Xi’an to engage in in-depth exchange over time measurement technology and explore future plans of cooperation, including exploring the deployment of new equipment to enhance our local time service provision and using the BeiDou satellite time service system. Hong Kong Observatory’s colleague lecturing in Thailand
Mr KOK Mang-hin Marco, Acting Senior Scientific Officer of the Hong Kong Observatory, was invited to visit the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) Headquarters and deliver lectures at a workshop on “Future Development of Aviation Meteorological Services” to exchange and share insights with TMD meteorological personnel. Hong Kong Observatory actively participates in the activities of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission
The Hong Kong Observatory joined the Chinese delegation consisting of representatives from the National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center (NMEFC) to attend the 31st Session of the Intergovernmental Coordination Group for the Pacific Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System (ICG/PTWS-XXXI) of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO.
