El Niño and La Niña
The El Niño had peaked in December last year and showed signs of weakening in the last couple of months. Based on the latest forecasts by a number of climate models around the world, the El Niño would continue to weaken and sea surface temperatures of the tropical Pacific are likely to resume normal by early this summer.
