To celebrate the 140th anniversary of the Hong Kong Observatory, the Observatory launched the “This link will open in a new windowHong Kong Observatory 140th Anniversary” website in March 2023, and welcomes members of the public to look back at our 140-year journey with us.

Many precious historical photos and videos are shown in the website, which enables visitors to glimpse the evolution of the wide-ranging, people-oriented services the Observatory staff developed in the past 140 years, based on science and innovation, and in response to society’s ever-changing demands and expectations. A quiz is also available in the website, for visitors to test their knowledge of the Observatory and obtain souvenir cards signed by the Director of the Hong Kong Observatory.
