Observatory colleagues provide meteorological training in the Philippines

Kok Mang-hin

Mr Kok Mang-hin, Acting Senior Scientific Officer; and Mr Wong Tak-kan, Senior Experimental Officer of the Observatory, conducted a refresher training course on aeronautical meteorological services in the office of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) during 13 to 15 March. Over 70 meteorological personnel from PAGASA participated in the training, either in person or online. The participants took part in active discussions and technical exchanges with the speakers, and appreciated the extensive materials covered in the course.

In addition, the Observatory representatives seized the opportunity to discuss with their PAGASA counterparts meteorological collaboration in various areas. Both the Hong Kong Observatory and PAGASA are open to further collaboration, to contribute to the enhancement of weather services in the region.
