Director of the Observatory leads a delegation to attend the 3rd Session of the WMO Services Commission (SERCOM-3)

The third session of the Commission for Weather, Climate, Hydrological, Marine and Related Environmental Services and Applications (Services Commission or SERCOM) of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the Gender Conference were held from 4 to 9 March in Bali, Indonesia. The Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, Dr Chan Pai-wai, led the delegation of Hong Kong, China to attend the meeting.

The meeting brought together experts in meteorology, hydrology, as well as disaster prevention and reduction from all around the world to deliberate and adopt a number of SERCOM-related draft documents to be recommended to the WMO Executive Council and Congress. During the Gender Conference held on 7 March, participants had in-depth discussions on gender equality and related issues.
