Hong Kong Observatory Signs Cooperation Framework Agreement with Guangdong Earthquake Agency

The Assistant Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, Ms Sandy Song, and the Deputy Director of the Guangdong Earthquake Agency (GEA), Mr Huang Shengwu, signed the “Cooperation Framework Agreement between the GEA and the HKO” at the opening ceremony of the “9th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Earthquake Science and Technology Seminar”, in Guangzhou on 27 September 2023. The newly signed agreement broadens the collaboration and expands the scope of cooperation between the two parties. Cooperation now includes improving the earthquake monitoring network, and strengthening earthquake disaster reduction capabilities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
