Hong Kong, China delegation attends the 56th Session of the Typhoon Committee

The 56th Session of the Typhoon Committee was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 27 February to 1 March. The Hong Kong Observatory and the Drainage Services Department sent experts to jointly form the delegation of Hong Kong, China to participate in the session.

During the session, more than 90 experts in meteorology, hydrology, and disaster prevention and reduction from the Asia-Pacific region reviewed achievements of the work in 2023, and discussed various future activities, operational and research collaboration, in an effort to strengthen cooperation between members in tropical cyclone monitoring, forecasting and warning, as well as disaster prevention and reduction.
