New weather radar at Tai Mo Shan comes into operation
The Observatory’s new Tai Mo Shan weather radar (TMSWR) has come into operation, to provide essential observation data for monitoring various inclement weather phenomena including thunderstorms, rainstorms and tropical cyclones. (More……)
New names for tropical cyclones in 2024
Nine new names – Jamjari, Tsing-ma, Tokei, Ong-mang, Amuyao, Gosari, Hodu, Sarbul and Luc-Binh – have been introduced to the list of tropical cyclone names in the western North Pacific and the South China Sea this year, replacing old names. (More……)
