Senior Management Seminar on Aviation Meteorology Held in Beijing

On 13 December 2023, Chan Pak-wai, Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, attended the Senior Management Seminar on Aviation Meteorology, a joint event by the Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB) of the Civil Aviation Administration of China and the Hong Kong Observatory held in Beijing.

The meeting reviewed the cooperation between the two sides in business operations, scientific research, and international exchanges over recent years, including the operations of the Asian Aviation Meteorological Centre and the Global Space Weather Centre, cooperative efforts in aviation meteorology with the International Civil Aviation Organization and the World Meteorological Organization, aviation meteorology initiatives in the Pearl River Delta region, sharing of meteorological data, and specialized research projects in aviation meteorology. A consensus was reached on the collaborative work plans for the next two years.
