Commencing 30 December 2013, the Observatory starts a new era of TV weather programme in Hong Kong. A dedicated "Weather On-Air" team has been set up for unified provision of free TV weather services to local TV stations. Apart from TV channels, the weather programmes are also broadcasted directly to members of the public via mobile application "MyObservatory" and the Observatory webpage.

Content-wise, a programme series called "Cool Met Stuff" is produced in addition to the regular weather forecasts. This new series aims to enhance public's understanding on meteorology and to raise public awareness on natural disaster prevention.
