The Observatory publishes seasonal forecast for the next three months on a monthly basis

Starting from April 2022, the Observatory will enhance seasonal forecast service by publishing seasonal forecast for the next three months on a monthly basis. The forecast elements include average temperature and total rainfall of the season in tercile categories. The seasonal forecast for April-June 2022 has been released. Taking a number of factors including the development of La Niña, climate model predictions and statistical analysis into consideration, Hong Kong is expecting normal to above-normal temperature and normal to below-normal rainfall for April-June 2022. However, Hong Kong may still be affected by heavy rain and members of the public should make proper preparations for the rain and typhoon seasons.
