Close Collaboration and Partnership with the Aviation Community

The 31st meeting of the Liaison Group on Aviation Weather Services was held on 20 January at the Hong Kong Observatory. Fifteen representatives of airlines, pilot's association and other sectors of the aviation community participated the meeting. The meeting discussed actively on aviation weather products and services and their future developments to further enhance aviation safety and efficiency in the coming years. This was in response to the development of aviation business in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta region as a whole.

This meeting had a special meaning to Mr. C.Y. Lam, the former Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, since this was his last meeting with the liaison group before retirement. Being one of those who initiated the "Liaison Group on Aviation Weather Services", Mr. Lam gave his special thanks to all members of the liaison group for their contribution to the aviation meteorological services of Hong Kong.
