Windshear Briefings for the Aviation Community

The Observatory endeavours to promote the windshear alerting services among local airlines and relevant government departments in Hong Kong  through briefing sessions and visits.  In addition to the annual windshear briefings for the airlines, the Observatory also conducted tailor-made briefings on the Observatory's aviation weather services including windshear for the Government Flying Service (GFS) and the airline Metrojet this year.  Through these briefings, users' feedback was collected with a view to further enhancing the weather services. The briefings were well-received by the participants.  Mr. Roger Lee, the Group Safety Management System Manager of Metrojet, thanked the Observatory's staff for their informative presentation on windshear and other weather hazards in the vicinity of  Hong Kong for promoting aviation safety.
