Hong Kong Observatory and Thai Meteorological Department Renew MOU to Further Strengthen Meteorological Collaboration

Choy Chun-wing

During the 19th World Meteorological Congress in Geneva, Switzerland, the Hong Kong Observatory and the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) renewed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to further strengthen meteorological collaboration. The Observatory and the TMD first signed the MOU on meteorological collaboration in 2017.

The renewal of the MOU further fortifies the connections between the two organisations and will propel various collaborative projects in meteorological science and technology. Under the renewed MOU, the scope of cooperation between the two parties includes weather forecasting, telecommunications, aeronautical meteorology, marine meteorology and international cooperation.
