Delegates from the China Earthquake Administration visited the Observatory

This year marks the10th anniversary of the signing of the "Agreement on Co-operation in Seismology between the China Earthquake Administration and the Hong Kong Observatory" (Agreement). Mr. Zhang Youmin, Deputy Director of the China Earthquake Administration, led a delegation of 8 members, including Director of the Earthquake Administration of Beijing Municipality, Director of the Earthquake Administration of Yunnan Province, and Director of the Earthquake Administration of Guangdong Province, to visit the Observatory on June 30.

After tours on the Observatory's facilities, a meeting was held to review the status of co-operation matters under the Agreement and to explore future co-operation opportunities. The meeting proceeded in a friendly atmosphere. Mr. Zhang Youmin said "The seismological section of the Observatory is small but highly efficient. With abundance of expertise in seismology in mainland China, we should strengthen our co-operation to the benefits of both sides."
