Launch of a Brand-new Weather Wizard Software Gadget

The Observatory launched a brand-new Weather Wizard (version 3.0) software gadget today (4 July). The last version, which was introduced in late 2008, was highly popular among PC users with 2.7 billion page views per year on average.

In additional to the automatic warning notification and regional weather report in the last version, the new weather wizard incorporates a range of popular services of the Observatory:

(i) Detailed weather report with UV index, regional wind and rainfall information;
(ii) Forecasts for local weather and the next 7 days;
(iii) Animations for satellite and radar imageries;
(iv) Location-based rain forecast service;
(v) Observatory's tropical cyclone track information; and
(vi) Special Weather Tips.
