The Observatory enlarges the area of its Computer Forecast Weather Map

The Hong Kong Observatory enhanced its Computer Forecast Weather Map today (28 April) that extended the forecast area to the north to northern China and Hokkaido of Japan; and to the west to Nepal and eastern part of India. This allows the public to better understand the weather changes over a larger area.

The Computer Forecast Weather Map is automatically generated from the outputs of the high resolution numerical weather prediction model operated by the Observatory. The maps are updated 4 times per day providing forecasts up to 3 days ahead. Members of the public are welcome to access the forecast weather map at: http://www.weather.gov.hk/nhm/nhme.htm.
