Enhancement of “Severe Thunderstorms” Information
To alert the public of the high-impact weather induced by severe thunderstorms, starting from this year, the Observatory enhances the provision of thunderstorm-related information such as “severe squally thunderstorms”, “violent gusts”, etc, where necessary, in thunderstorm warnings, local weather forecasts, weather information for South China Coastal Waters and marine forecasts, to remind the public to take timely precautions.(More……)
Scope of "Tropical Cyclone Track Probability Forecast" Extended to Central Pacific
The Observatory will enhance the "Tropical Cyclone Track Probability Forecast“ this year by extending the forecast area eastward, from the current boundary of 140 degrees east longitude to 180 degrees east longitude, to cover the Central Pacific.(More……)

Have you noticed the profile picture of "Dr Tin" on the homepage of MyObservatory mobile app? This is a new beta version of the "chatbot" function. “Dr Tin” will try his best to answer any questions you ask (such as about current weather, weather warnings, weather forecast, tidal information, Hong Kong standard time, weather forecasts of world major cities, time of sunrise or sunset, etc.).(More……)
