“A Tour of Tropical Cyclones” e-Book for Children

The Observatory published the Chinese version of an e-book titled This link will open in a new window“A Tour of Tropical Cyclones” in June 2021, to deepen children’s understanding of tropical cyclones and raise their awareness of disaster preparedness and response through interactive infographics. Contents include the classification and naming of tropical cyclones, information on historical local typhoons, meanings of warning signals, storm structure, methods of monitoring and forecasting tropical cyclones, as well as the associated hazards and precautionary measures. The e-book is also linked to related online educational resources and the Observatory’s “Cool Met Stuff” videos.
