Enhancing the Very Hot Weather Warning Service through partnerships

    Shum Chi-tai

From 14 September 2021, the Observatory has enhanced the list of precautions associated with the Very Hot Weather Warnings (VHWW). During prolonged heat, members of the public will be reminded to prevent discomfort related to very hot weather, and pay due attention to their health. These new precautions are to better suit the health needs of senior citizens and persons with chronic medical conditions.

Through scientific analyses and partnerships with the Senior Citizen Home Safety Association, Department of Health and the Labour Department in recent years, the Observatory aims to continuously enhance the VHWW services.
