    Enhanced seasonal forecast service

    Starting from April 2022, the Observatory enhanced seasonal forecasts for the next three months, which are produced on a monthly basis. The forecast elements include average temperature and total rainfall in tercile categories for the season. (More……)

    Annual outlook for 2022

    The Observatory announced the annual weather outlook for 2022. It is expected that there will be five to eight tropical cyclones coming within 500 kilometres of Hong Kong during the year, and the tropical cyclone season for Hong Kong may start in June or earlier. (More……)

    Extension of scope of ISO 9001 certification for automatic meteorological measurement services

    The Observatory extended the scope of ISO 9001 certification for automatic regional temperature measurement services, to cover additional measurements, including mean sea level pressure and relative humidity. The resulting services were awarded ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Services Certification in late 2021. (More……)
