Weather Photo Gallery adds Over a Hundred New Photos

Lam Ming-chun

At the end of December 2023, the Observatory updated the Community Weather Observing Scheme (CWOS) Photo Gallery on its website. More than a hundred captivating photos were added to the gallery, including lenticular clouds that resemble “flying saucers”, asperitas with cloud base looking like a rough sea, rarely seen double rainbows, crepuscular rays that stream through the gaps or edges of clouds, and enchanting morning fog scenes. The updated photo gallery now includes over 300 photos. Members of the public are welcome to visit the gallery to enjoy the photos and enhance their meteorological knowledge.

The newly added photos cover five categories in the weather photo gallery: Symphony of Clouds, Atmospheric Optics, Celestial Wonders, Lightning Flashes and Other Weather Phenomena
