Latest Developments in Global Climate Change

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has confirmed that the global mean surface temperature in 2023 was about 1.45°C higher than pre-industrial levels, making it the warmest year on record. Also, 2015 to 2023 were the warmest nine years on record.

Humans emit massive amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, leading to global warming, and more frequent extreme weather including heat waves and rainstorms. If we want to limit global warming within the 1.5°C target of the Paris Agreement, everyone must take immediate action to save energy and reduce emissions.
