Preparations for Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Meteorological Monitoring and Warning Centre in Hong Kong Commences

The commissioning launch ceremony of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Meteorological Monitoring and Warning Centre (Hong Kong) (Hong Kong Centre) was held at the Hong Kong Observatory in the afternoon of 14 September 2023. The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Chan Kwok-ki; the Administrator of the China Meteorological Administration (CMA), Dr Chen Zhenlin; the Secretary for Environment and Ecology, Mr Tse Chin-wan; the Director of Guangdong Meteorological Service, Mr Zhuang Xudong; the Director of the Macao Geophysical and Meteorological Bureau, Mr Leong Weng-kun; and the Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, Dr Chan Pak-wai, officiated. The Hong Kong Centre will be at the supersite for Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) air quality laboratory and meteorology monitoring, and will help promote quality meteorological development in the GBA.
