Hottest Summer
Due to the stronger than usual subtropical ridge persisting over southern China, Hong Kong experienced the hottest summer – from June to August 2020 – since records began. With 13 consecutive hot nights from 19 June to 1 July, the record of number of consecutive hot nights was also broken. (More……)

Non-stop Global Warming
Climate change has not stopped due to COVID-19. Atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations are at a record high and continue rising. The present-day global average temperature is already about 1.1℃ above pre-industrial levels. In this warming world, extreme weather events, such as extreme heat and extreme rainfall, have become more frequent. (More……)
