Hong Kong Observatory Delegation visited Partner Authorities in Beijing and Tianjin

Dr Chan Pak-wai, Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, and Ms Lam Ching-chi, Senior Scientific Officer of the Observatory, visited Beijing and Tianjin on 14 and 15 December 2023, respectively. They met and exchanged views with experts of the China Meteorological Administration Training Center (CMATC), the National Nuclear Emergency Response Office (NNERO) of the China Atomic Energy Agency (CAEA), and the National Marine Data and Information Service (NMDIS), to discuss plans for future cooperation. Through collaboration, the various parties strive to enhance staff capacity building and make full use of science, technology and big data to improve services that contribute to people’s safety and well-being.
