Delegation from Aviation Meteorological Centre of Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB) visited the Hong Kong Observatory

Mr Zhang Hongtai, the Deputy Director-General of the Aviation Meteorological Centre of Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB), led a delegation including ATMB meteorologists from different regions in the Mainland to visit the Observatory from 5 to 7 December 2023. The two parties introduced their recent operations and services in aviation meteorology, and exchanged views on the current state of international aviation meteorological development. They also discussed plans to strengthen collaboration in various areas such as techniques for forecasting weather that is hazardous for aviation, forecast verification methods, and meteorological data exchanges.
