Hong Kong Observatory Delegation Visited Partner Authorities in Guangzhou

The Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, Dr Chan Pak-wai, led the Assistant Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, Chan Sai-Tick, and the Senior Scientific Officer, Lam Ching-chi, to Guangzhou on 15 August 2023 to visit the Middle South Regional Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB) of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), Guangdong Earthquake Agency (GEA) and the South China Sea Bureau (SCSB) of the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR). During the meetings, there were exchanges on the development of observation networks and seamless forecasting tools, and aviation meteorological personnel capacity building; as well as planning cooperation with GEA on earthquake information service enhancement, and with SCSB/MNR on enhancing marine observations over the South China Sea and related research.
